Rockstar sent the gaming world into a frenzy when it dropped the first trailer of Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6. We got a glimpse of Leonida—a fictional Florida city—and met Lucia, who’s already a fan favorite now. As a GTA fan, you must be wondering, is that it? Where’s the second trailer?
Ex-Rockstar dev says GTA 6 doesn’t need any more trailers
Well, former Rockstar Dev Obbe Vermeij has an answer—but it would please you, honestly. According to a report from Insider Gaming, Vermeij recently posted on X (FKA Twitter) that, if it were up to him, there wouldn’t be a second GTA 6 trailer at all.
Vermeij, who was with Rockstar from 1995 to 2009 and helped shape classics like GTA III, Vice City, San Andreas, and GTA IV, knows a thing or two about building suspense. His argument? The less we see now, the more jaw-dropping the final reveal will be.
“If it were my call, I wouldn’t release any additional trailers,” he wrote, adding that GTA 6 already has “more than enough hype.” He believes that holding back will make the launch even more successful.
The first trailer took the internet by storm
And, honestly… he’s not wrong. The first trailer nearly broke the internet, racking up millions of views and sparking wild theories about everything from Lucia’s backstory in just 90 seconds of footage. Not to forget, the game will launch this fall.
So, what do you think? Should Rockstar keep you guessing, or is it finally time for GTA 6’s second trailer to drop? Let us know in the comments.
