Microsoft announces increased price of Xbox consoles, controllers & new games

If you are an Xbox fan, this news might annoy you a little. Microsoft, which posted a strong Q3 earnings for FY25, is increasing price of the Xbox Series X|S console, Xbox controllers, and even some new Xbox games across the globe.Â
Microsoft increases the price of new, first-party games, Xbox Series X|S consoles, and wireless controllers
In the Xbox support page, Microsoft notes that it has adjusted the recommended retail price for its Xbox controllers and consoles. Starting today, the Xbox Series X will now cost $599.99, an increase of $100 from the previous $499.99 price.
Starting this holiday season, the price of some new, first-party games will increase to $79.99. The price of Xbox Series S (512GB) will increase from $299.99 to $379.99. That’s a bump of $80. The 1TB model will now cost $429.99, with the Xbox Series X edition’s price increasing to $549.99.
That’s not all; the price of the galaxy black special edition model (2TB) will set you back by $729.99. The US pricing of Xbox wireless controllers and headsets is also increasing. The new, adjusted price of the basic controller is $64.99, while the wireless headset stands at $119.99.

The European pricing is also increasing
Microsoft has also adjusted European pricing for its Xbox controllers and consoles. In Europe and the UK, the Xbox Series S (512GB) will now be priced at €349.99 / £299.99, with the Xbox Series X (1TB) rising to €599.99 / £499.99. Fortunately, Microsoft isn’t increasing the price of the Xbox Game Pass.Â
