The ROG Xbox Ally and its beefed-up sibling, the ROG Xbox Ally X, might be hitting shelves sooner than expected—and now we might know when and how much they’ll cost.

While Microsoft officially revealed both handhelds during its Xbox Games Showcase earlier this month, a new leak from insider eXtas1s (via ImPacaTheCat) is filling in some key blanks, including launch timing, price tags, and where you’ll get to try them.

Pre-orders coming in August, launch in October

eXtas1s says he spoke with European retailers after private talks with Microsoft, and fans won’t have to wait long to reserve a unit.

The pre-order, that is, the reservations for these Xbox Ally devices—both of them—will open in August [2025]. I was told, literally: it goes on sale in mid-October. Maybe closer to the end than the beginning, but October.

That lines up with Xbox’s official “Holiday 2025” window, but narrows it down quite a bit.

Here’s what we know so far

Sources suggest both models will be playable at Gamescom 2025 before launch. And while specs weren’t mentioned in this leak, pricing was. If you’re in Europe, you’ll be paying €599 for the regular ROG Xbox Ally and €899 for the Ally X. In the U.S., expect slightly lower price points: around $499 and $799, respectively.

  • Launch window: Mid to late October 2025

  • Expected U.S. pricing:

Microsoft hasn’t confirmed the leaked info yet, but this timeline seems to match up with their usual fall hardware launches.
