MSI Claw A8 US Price Leaks Online — And It's Expensive
The handheld is an immediate rival to Lenovo Legion 2
MSI’s next handheld gaming PC might be heading straight into the premium category. The MSI Claw A8’s price has just been leaked from Newegg’s US online store a listed price of a whopping $1,149 (via VideoCardz). MSI hasn’t officially confirmed the price, but given recent industry trends around the global RAM price hike, that figure is highly likely to be true.

The MSI Claw A8 was first announced at Computex back in May this year. While the handheld has been spotted on a few European retailers, this is the first time it has been spotted on a US retailer’s site. Notably, MSI hasn’t shared a launch date for the US. But the availability on Newegg US suggests that its launch is imminent.
Under the hood, the Claw A8 uses AMD’s Ryzen Z2 Extreme, making it a top contender for Windows-based handhelds. The leaked configuration hints at 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM, a 1TB NVMe SSD, Wi-Fi 7, and Windows 11 out of the box.
MSI is using an 8-inch panel with a 1920×1200 resolution and up to a 120Hz refresh rate, matching what we’re seeing from other high-end handheld PCs. At $1,149, the Claw A8 would sit right above its counterpart that comes with an Intel Core Ultra 7 chip and 32GB of RAM. Speaking of rivals, it’ll also take on the Lenovo Legion Go 2, with a price tag of $1,099 and offering an OLED display and removable controllers.
What do you think about the pricing of MSI Claw A8? We’d love to hear your thoughts.
