OpenAI is boosting ChatGPT’s business capabilities as its paying user base crosses 3 million, up from 2 million in February across Team, Enterprise, and Edu plans.

The latest update allows ChatGPT to integrate with popular work tools like Microsoft Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Gmail, Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, and Liner.

These Deep Research integrations are rolling out to Plus, Pro, Team, Enterprise, and Edu users. Additionally, IT administrators can now build custom integrations using the Model Context Protocol (MCP), giving organizations secure access to their internal systems within ChatGPT.

A new record mode feature is now available for ChatGPT Team users on macOS. It captures meeting audio and automatically generates transcripts, summaries, and action items.

This feature will expand to Plus, Pro, Enterprise, and Edu plans soon. Kevin Weil, OpenAI’s Chief Product Officer, confirmed that MCP support will also become available to Pro users.

While these improvements strengthen ChatGPT’s appeal for businesses, Microsoft 365 Copilot remains a strong competitor thanks to its deep integration within the Office ecosystem. Still, ChatGPT’s rapid user growth and enhanced tools show it is steadily gaining ground in the enterprise AI space.
